What happens in a media training session?

Published by Colin Kelly on November 4, 2025 November 4, 2025

Welcome to Part 1 of our look inside a media training session delivered by Comsteria’s Colin Kelly.

All our courses are tailored to you, and we’ll make sure you’re both encouraged and challenged, with the intensity of the experience varying according to your experience and what you need.

Our media training courses can be delivered in person or remotely, at your premises, or at a venue sourced by us. Half day or full day sessions are available and we can work 1-1 or with small groups.

For larger teams we can provide a two trainer set up and split the group for the practical on-camera interviews.

Recently, Janine Neil, owner of Big Kids Little Learners in Renfrewshire, experienced a 1-1 media training session with Colin Kelly and agreed to be filmed, so we can show you want went on.

In this clip, Colin shares his ‘Simple – Positive – Interesting – True’ mnemonic which is an approach you can use when you’re taking a story to the media.
